Fakeeh Academic Medical Center (FAMC)
Fakeeh Academic Medical Center (FAMC), a hospital and medical university project developed by Saudi Arabia’s leading healthcare provider, Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital (DSFH); in an effort to drive academic advancement and extend quality medical services to support the local healthcare industry.

The University Hospital focuses on family healthcare and patient-centred services, targeting the growing community of residents in Dubai Slicon Oasis as well as in neighbouring areas.

Equipped to offer secondary and tertiary medical services supported by comprehensive diagnostic centres, the hospital,primarily, focuses on family and patient-centred services, working at a capacity of 700,000 patients per year, with an estimated 40,000 admissions and 20,000 surgical operations.

The scope of works for the first phase of the project comprises of 3 hospital buildings of a total of 150 bed capacity, with interconnecting bridges, car park and utilities block, spanning a built up area of around 77,375 m2 over two basements and six above ground floors.

The hospital will feature an imaging department, nuclear medicine, morgue, radiology, endoscopy and emergency units, a surgery suite and catheterization laboratory, as well as dedicated pediatrics and gynecology sections.

HLS is responsible for the delivery of the complete MEP works of the facility, including the water cooled chiller plant of 5,400 RT and all related ELV, medical gases, compressed air and pneumatic tube systems.

To be open in 2017.

Aviation Medicine/Aerospace medicine is a medical specialty which combines aspects of preventive, occupational, environmental and clinical medicine with the physiology and psychology of man in flight. It is concerned with the health and safety of those who fly, crew and passengers.

Fakeeh Aeromedical Examination Clinic (AME) is a specialist clinic designed specifically for conducting Pilot, Cabin Crew and Air Traffic Controller medicals as required under (GACA) General Authority of Civil Aviation of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regulations.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Our primary objective is ensuring safety in our air spaces which is achieved by careful and detailed physical examinations and medical investigations of aircrew.
Fakeeh AME has the responsibility to ensure that only those applicants who are physically and mentally able to perform safely may exercise the privileges of their licenses.
To properly discharge the duties associated with these responsibilities, Fakeeh AME always maintains familiarity with general medical knowledge applicable to aviation through refresher courses.
Fakeeh AME has a detailed knowledge and understanding of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regulations, policies, procedures and guidance material related to medical certification.
Fakeeh AME is familiar with the medical history questions in the medical application pages and ensures that the applicant understands each question.
In Fakeeh AME, team personally conducts all medical examinations at our facility and assumes responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the total report of examination.

In Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) is a physician designated by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA who is given the authority to perform flight physical examinations and investigations on pilots, cabin crew, air traffic controllers and flight engineers (class 1, 2 and 3).

King Abdullah Economic City Family Medicine Clinic

King Abdullah Economic City is one of the largest and most important private sector initiatives in the Middle East, encompassing a total area of 168 million sqm along the coast of the Red Sea. The city consists of the Industrial Valley, King Abdullah Port, the Leisure and Commercial districts, the Haramain district, the Residential Coastal districts and the Resorts. The only medical center for primary care and emergencies is operated by Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Company and operates 24 hours per day.

(a) Mission:
(i) King Abdullah economic city is committed to provide evidence based, preventive and curative, high quality primary healthcare services to its community citizens and visitors.

Current Services:
The city has its own clinic situated at The World Academy School. It is run by Family Medicine Consultants under the care of Doctor Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. The clinic was commissioned on March 2013 by a team from Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. Services provided include family medicine as well as urgent care. There is no lab nor x-ray facilities available. The clinic has a pharmacy store to serve emergency cases and supply patients with the acute medications. Prescriptions are given to patients to be dispensed from Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah or a pharmacy of the patient’s choice. The clinic is operational 24/7. The current staffing levels are as follows:

• 3 family medicine consultants,
• 7 staff nurses,
• 3 paramedics
• 4 ambulance drivers,
• 2 reception staff
• 1 cleaner

The clinic is equipped with 2 ambulances one of which is an ICU ambulance. Emergency cases needing hospital admissions are first stabilized in the clinic and then transferred to the nearest hospital or DSFH, Jeddah. Arrangements are made with the Red Crescent to assist in medical stabilization and transportation when there is more than one case requiring urgent transfer.

Scope of Service:
1)Provision of family medicine services such as acute and chronic disease management, vaccination, antenatal care, well baby visits and health screenings/check-ups.
2)Urgent Care of any medical or traumatic emergencies inside KAEC. These include injuries on duty and Road Traffic Accidents. Patients are stabilized and transferred by ambulance if required.
3) School Health Services
3)The clinic runs regular health promotion and education services to the KAEC community.

4)The clinic provides on-site mobile health services for sporting and other events in the city.
5)The clinic also conducted several outreach healthcare visits to the neighboring villages of Saabar and Alqadima, under the umbrella of EMAAR social responsibility team

As part of the contract, Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Company provides KAEC residents with education and health awareness programs including the importance of prevention and early intervention in detecting and treating diseases.

The future healthcare developments in KAEC focus on a polyclinic with separate facilities for urgent care and outpatient clinics run by family medicine, specialists and dentists. In addition, there will be a clinic for labourers in the Industrial valley and a school clinic.
